The Cannondale CAAD5 in its legendary Saeco team livery is the absolute embodiment of high-performance American aluminum. The CAAD5 frame marked a major technological milestone for Cannondale, famously introducing the integrated headset design that sleekly blended the fork into the massive, oversized headtube.

Dressed in the unmistakable, fiery « Total Red » Saeco paintwork, this bike is an aggressive visual masterpiece. The custom-shaped, thin-walled 6061 T6 aluminum tubing was engineered to do one thing: convert every single watt of leg power into forward motion. Out on the road, the ride quality is raw, explosive, and incredibly sharp. It feels light in the climbs and completely unyielding in the sprints, offering that legendary, connected road feel that made Cannondale the undisputed king of aluminum racing frames.

The bike story

The CAAD5 Saeco platform represents the peak of Cannondale's engineering at a time when the team was absolutely dominant. The 2003 season was a legendary year for the squad, highlighted by Gilberto Simoni’s spectacular and emotional overall victory at the Giro d'Italia. Simoni crushed the competition in the mountains on this generation of Cannondale frame. Backed by powerhouse riders like Danilo Di Luca, the iconic "red train" was the terror of the peloton, proving that this masterfully tuned aluminum could still easily destroy the newly arriving carbon fiber bikes. It remains a timeless symbol of pure Italian grit and grand tour victory.
