About Me

Passionate cyclist, custom bike builder, and deep admirer of cycling’s golden legends. From casual village rides to specialized race training and amateur racing, my life has always revolved around two wheels.

The Spark: Early Days

It all started in Han-sur-Lesse. Before taking the sport seriously, I used to ride around my village, pretending to be Marco Pantani or Oscar Sevilla. Everything changed when Gaëtan, a local physiotherapist, took me under his wing. He became my first real trainer and turned my casual hobby into a true passion.

The Academy: Specialized Training

I took my commitment to the next level during my final years of secondary school in Rochefort, enrolling in the specialized cycling technical program. I had the incredible opportunity to be trained by the legendary Ferdinand Bracke (former Hour Record holder) and was privileged to have Belgian cycling icons Philippe Gilbert (5th year) and Ludovic Capelle (6th year) as my class godfathers.

The Inspiration: My Cycling DNA

My vision of cycling is deeply rooted in the raw, nostalgic era of the 90s and 2000s. I am fueled by the grit of the Giro d’Italia and the Ronde van Vlaanderen. My cycling heroes and reference points include:

  • Riders: Marco Pantani, Frank Vandenbroucke, Johan Museeuw, Jan Ullrich, Gilberto Simoni.
  • Iconic Teams: Kelme, Domo-Farm Frites, Mapei, Mercatone Uno, Saeco.

Recent Years: Stepping into Cyclocross & Gravel

Two years ago, I decided to test my limits by joining the amateur cyclocross scene, and I haven’t looked back since:

  • 2024-2025 Season: 8 races under my belt, highlighted by competing in the Championnat de Wallonie.
  • 2025-2026 Season: Doubled down with 17 races, with the ultimate highlight being my very first official Cycling Vlaanderen national CX race in Bekkevoort.

Always only one focus in Mind : Enjoy the moment no matter the result

My Recent Memorable Rides

The Queen Stage: Belfort ➡️ Le Markstein (Strava Link)

I tackled this legendary Tour de France Stage 20 route on July 21, 2023—exactly one day before the pro peloton. The very next day, Tadej Pogačar would take an epic victory on these exact roads. For me, it was a grueling, heroic day in the mountains. The weather turned it into a real battle: getting soaked in the freezing rain at the Col des Feignes, followed by an icy, shivering descent. The final two cols were an absolute battlefield, but riding it with the roadside fans already gathering for the Tour made it unforgettable.

  • Distance: 143.6 km | Elevation Gain: 3,504 m
  • Moving Time: 8h 24m
  • Bike: Ulle (My custom Jan Ullrich tribute bike)

Belgian Gravel Championships (Strava Link)

An unforgettable experience lining up on the grid alongside the pros. It was an incredibly intense and fast day out. The wind was relentless, smashing us with headwinds on nearly half the course. I gave everything I had, racing at an average heart rate of 166 bpm, completing 2 out of 3 laps of this hardcore pro circuit before hitting the DNF with fuelless body and pain in every muscle. Pure adrenaline ride!

  • Distance: 103.1 km | Average Speed: 24.2 km/h (Peak 43.1 km/h)
  • Weather Impact: Heavy headwinds (47% of the ride)
  • Bike: Colnago A1R CX

Today: Crafting & Exploring

When I’m not racing, my passion drives me to the workshop and back onto the dirt. I am a dedicated bike builder, deeply inspired by the history and craftsmanship of vintage bikes. I love bringing my own dream projects to life from the frame up, while constantly hunting for that next rare gem to add to my collection.

At the same time, I am fully committed to refining my cyclocross skills through rigorous technique training. For me, riding is also about embracing the journey. I balance regular, scenic rides with a few legendary, long-distance adventures each year designed to push my absolute limits.
