Description

This one came home in 2014.

The Eddy Merckx in the legendary Domo-Farm Frites livery is the absolute crown jewel of my collection, representing my favorite team and holding the title of my all-time favorite paint scheme. Built under the strict supervision of the « Cannibal » himself, this frame is a masterclass in Belgian racing heritage, engineered specifically to withstand the most brutal abuse a professional racer could throw at it.

Visually, the bike is an absolute masterpiece of early-2000s cycling design. The striking combination of the Domo blue and white, mixed with the iconic Farm Frites branding, creates a clean, aggressive, and timeless aesthetic that stands out in any crowd. The frame utilizes high-end, custom-shaped oversized tubing designed to maximize bottom bracket stiffness while maintaining the legendary, rock-solid stability that Eddy Merckx frames are famous for. Out on the road, it delivers a deeply connected, bulletproof ride quality. It handles high-speed descents with absolute poise and handles rough roads with a reassuring toughness, making it the perfect blend of sentimental passion and elite engineering.

The bike story

Across the 2001 and 2002 seasons, the Domo-Farm Frites squad was the undisputed king of the northern hell, dominating the brutal Spring Classics like no other team on earth. Under the strategic mastery of Patrick Lefevere, this powerhouse Belgian team featured a legendary roster of hardmen, including Johan Museeuw, Servais Knaven, Richard Virenque, and a young Tom Boonen. This Eddy Merckx platform stormed straight into cycling folklore, most notably orchestrating an iconic, historic 1-2-3 podium sweep at the 2001 Paris-Roubaix led by Servais Knaven, followed by Johan Museeuw’s legendary, mud-soaked solo triumph at the 2002 Paris-Roubaix where he famously crossed the line pointing at his leg. It remains an epic monument to Belgian grit, cobble-crushing power, and the golden era of classic racing.
